On-Call and Incident Response

We work across the outdoor industry, prioritizing contracts with outdoor professionals who influence how participants are welcomed into and experience the outdoors, such as schools, outdoor leadership programs, wilderness medicine, wilderness therapy, guiding outfits, and summer camps. Within an organization, we train to build antiracist culture through knowledge, skills, and shared language across every level of contributor–from the Board to the warehouse.

Not sure if you or your organization fit this description? Are you outdoor-adjacent or tangentially involved in participants’ experience? Reach out and let’s see if we can meet your needs!

Why Work With Us?

The multi-racial, intersectional training team at Green Wood & Duff has over 20 years combined experience as outdoor educators, facilitators, and racial justice practitioners. We have worked and currently work at standard-setting institutions, and have refined the practices we use with some of the best outdoor educators and recreation facilitators in the industry. We create culture change by challenging and supporting outdoor professionals at predominantly white outdoor institutions to identify and change racist patterns in their organizations.

Every potential collaboration begins with a free, 30-minute “vibe check” so we can assess if we can support your organization, and you can see if you like our vibe! Once we agree to work together, we’ll do a more in-depth information-gathering session to understand your organization’s antiracism needs and goals.

We’ll develop a strategy for fostering antiracist culture change in your organization through backwards design principles combined with our extensive knowledge, experience, and deep stores of tested curriculum. We are not Human Resource professionals, fiduciaries, lawyers, or therapists and our scope of practice reflects this. Populations we have worked with include: teenagers, outdoor educators, outdoor medical providers, US military veterans, non-profit leadership, professionals, and corporate leaders.

Thanks to this cohort led by Ella and Steph, I am growing in ways that profoundly impact my career, how I show up for my community and personal relationships, and my role as a parent.
